Some products may worsen acne. If your skin is prone to acne breakouts, look for the word "non-comedogenic" (will not clog pores) on the label. Some products may stain/discolor clothing. Skin reactions

Emollients are moisturising treatments applied directly to the skin to soothe and hydrate it. They cover the skin with a protective film to trap in moisture. If you are using this product to help treat diaper rash, clean the diaper area well before use and allow the area to dry before applying the product. Children under 1: Seek HCP advice before use. Adults: Add 20ml to a standard bath of warm water (8 inches deep). Infants and Children: Add 5ml to a small bath (25 litres) or washbasin of warm water. Immerse and cover the affected areas and soak for 10-20 minutes. Alternatively, gently sponge over the affected areas repeatedly. Pat dry with a towel. Date of preparation: They can be used to replace lost moisture whenever your skin feels dry or tight. They're very safe and you cannot overuse them. They are not substitute for adequate nursing care and it is doubtful if they are any more effective than the traditional compound zinc ointments

Managing eczema

Grey / Non-Formulary: Medicines, which the Nottinghamshire APC has actively reviewed and does not recommend for use at present due to limited clinical and/or cost effective data. Aqueous cream may be associated with skin reactions (stinging, burning, itching and redness) when used as a 'leave-on' emollient, often within 20 minutes of application, and especially in children with atopic eczema. See MHRA Drug Safety update March 2013. Zerobase Emollient Cream softens, moisturises and protects the skin, providing symptomatic relief for red, inflamed or dry skin. If you have eczema, the cream can also be applied before a bath to stop the skin drying further. It can be used as an alternative to soap. Adverse reactions: Keep it simple: Using gentle soaps and cleansers avoid stripping the natural oils from your skin which helps preserve the skin moisture.
