In a way I did find this book refreshing to read simply because this book will show anyone who reads it, what people actually go through who suffers with anxiety or depression.

It will also feature practical guidance and advice from the psychologist and psychiatrist who pulled her back from the brink along with their notes and conversations throughout her mental health journey. Frankie shared a video revealing her struggles with withdrawal symptoms after being left without her antidepressants over the Easter weekend. This book just affirms that saying be kind because you never know what someone is going through and it’s so true. Being in the public eye, that sudden feeling of being so out of control of my body was really hard for me.The helplessness of it all, the feeling alone and like no one would understand or you just must be crazy (I've felt crazy too many times and I know that's not a PC term but its a personal term I've used for myself). I was really emotional, I wanted to cry all the time and having to put on that brave face like everything is OK. It got to a point where only Wayne could calm him down, as Frankie would work herself into such a state. When I read other people's journeys it helps me feel like I'm not the only one who feels a certain way.

In GROW, Sunday Times bestselling author Frankie Bridge opens up about her journey with her maternal mental health. Following the same tryptic narrative format of her previous book OPEN, which was a Sunday Times bestseller, GROW combines Frankie's experience with the notes of psychologist, Maleha Khan, who unpacks the problems she experienced as she became a mother. Before I had a baby, I was aware that when they cried it mainly meant they were tired, hungry, wanted cuddles and sometimes were uncomfortable. She shows that it is possible to live a successful life even with mental illness when one is open about it and seeks help. So, I am grateful to anyone in the public eye who helps to bring mental health and especially depression to the surface. I know how difficult it is to open up to people but it's so helpful and if anybody needs somebody to listen, my messages are always open!

From a personal standpoint as a fan of Frankie and The Saturdays, I am extremely proud of the way that she has managed to open up and be so honest about her anxiety, depression, OCD and anorexia. I picked this book up simply because I was interested in the concept of this book and have always adored Frankie, I have to say this book opened my eyes a lot more than I was expecting.Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Tik Tok's Dr Julie 'I absolutely love it - it doesn't matter who you are, what you've been through and how much you've changed - there is always room for growth'. It's interesting to know that poor mental health sometimes can't be attributed to a single event, rather it is due to a person's biological makeup and there is possibly a genetic link. These are definite all ifs unfortunately but it was both an eye opener and a great read to see how Frankie Bridge dealt with and still deals with her mental health daily.
