No matter how high you turn up the volume, there is almost no distortion (less than 0.1%) even if the table it’s on is shaking. This is especially impressive for a battery-operated speaker. It’s a sound you would expect from a more expensive in-home speaker. All audiophiles who own a mobile device should definitely get a portable Bluetooth speaker. You can bring your music anywhere and play it for the enjoyment of others. You can even use it in your car to enhance the music. EQ presets, 5 adjustable EQ bands, battery save mode, extended battery (sold separately), USB powerbank port At the bottom of the front on each end are two oblong recessed slots that look like bass ports but in fact, do nothing. They’re for looks only. On the rear panel, you will find a carrying handle (at the top), large bass reflex port (for improved bass response), battery compartment, and input ports.

If you want to move your speaker around between venues, carry it to friends’ houses, or even just move it around your homestead – portability is something you should take seriously. This is not so bad if you only want to pair speakers for the occasional party, but if you want a permanent setup, then you are in for a world of frustration. Resetting regularly would be a pain. I’d look elsewhere if you want permanent pairing. To Share or Not to Share is the Question Secondly, if you don’t want to take the time yourself you can choose one of the four built-in presets:

This calculation should be considered as a guide, but because the efficiency of speakers varies, one can’t accurately calculate the specific decibels from a provided wattage. Speaker Efficiency vs. Sensitivity Ever been confused about these terms? Me too! Speaker efficiency and speaker sensitivity describe the same concept but are technically different. This can be confusing since these two terms are used interchangeably in audio.

Even with its compact size, the Soundcore Rave Mini delivers an impressive 80W of power output. The speaker includes 2 x 5.25-inch woofers, 2 x 2-inch tweeters, and a single passive bass radiator for optimum bass performance. The speaker is surprisingly loud for its size, and the sound quality is better than most other Anker speakers.Playtime is rated at 9+ hours of typical continuous use. Unlike most manufacturers, Aiwa provides a figure to base that 9 hours use on, namely around 85 dBa SPL. Like all speakers though, playtime is almost halved if you use the speaker at full volume. With the Turtlebox you have the option of ⅛-inch AUX or Bluetooth for audio inputs. Turtlebox Audio state the Bluetooth range of being about 100 ft which is more than enough for operating the speaker outdoors. Sound

The USB powebank port can be used for charging phones or tablets. Assuming that the capacity of the battery is 15,600mAh, you can fully recharge Samsung S9 or iPhone X 5 times. Another positive feature is the possibility to link two Aiwa Exos-9s together to enjoy stereo sound. But we couldn’t test this because we only had one unit. SoundWhichever way, two speakers linked together ramps up the stereo sound massively. Make sure you’re not too close to the neighbors, or you could receive complaints and a visit from the local authorities. Ultimate Ears have earned a reputation for designing some of the most trendy-looking portable Bluetooth speakers on the market. The UE MEGABOOM 3 is one of the company’s best-selling speakers because of its compact size and surprisingly big sound. Audio Connections What Soundboks has focused on with this new speaker is bringing a balance between loudness and portability. Unlike the Soundboks 3, the Go measures only slightly larger in size than competitors like the Hyperboom or Boombox 2 and weighs in at a much more manageable 20 pounds. Now, while this is still no lightweight speaker, it does become possible to carry a Soundboks product in one hand.

Remember to keep pressing the right arrow to select one of your four presets, or then Battery Save Mode and finally to turn the EQ off. On the technical connectivity front, the Exos-9 has the latest aptX® Bluetooth compression technology. So, the sound quality is much better than the basic A2DP standard Bluetooth stereo streaming protocol you still find in some speakers.Another annoyance is that the touch-sensitive buttons on the top are not always responsive so you may have to press them more than once to change a setting.
