Through its exploration of mental health issues, it brings attention to how we can find strength within ourselves instead of relying solely on external sources for comfort or relief. Exploration of Human Emotion This Splatter Western isn’t going to work for all people because there are interludes throughout which may make some readers feel like they are being pulled out of the Western narrative. I enjoyed it immensely though and one of the main reasons I think I loved this so much was Chandler’s decision to not take himself too seriously. He took a risk with his version of a Splatter Western but in my eyes it paid off.

Chandler Morrison does not disappoint! After reading Dead Inside which I enjoyed but somehow could not properly review (because whew!), I found myself staring down the barrel of yet another gory and fired-up novella, this time the 11th installment of the Splatter Western world by Deaths Head Press. they proceed to hang out quite a lot. the mc is obviously very disgruntled and grossed out by the fact that he’s actually relating to another human being and to his absolute horror, he actually starts to like her, in his own sociopathic way. It’s as though she’s looking into me, like she can see me for the perverse freak that I am, but instead of turning away in disgust, she seems almost captivated.Through suspenseful writing techniques employed by Chandler Morrison, Dead Inside provides readers with an insightful perspective on internal strife and mental illness that is both analytical yet engaging. Are there any film or television adaptations of Dead Inside? Through understanding these aspects of Dead Inside, readers can gain insight into their own inner turmoil and subconscious desire for liberation. Overview of the Novel LoL that is amazing with what went down with Mayhem and that you're okay, I also love them and yeah, I feel the older they get, the better/more refined they are, especially live. I saw Obituary a few years ago and they were incredible live. It's just so cool and goes to show, it doesn't matter how old you are, metal will keep us all young forever \m/ I love meta stuff. Favorite horror movie? Scream. Favorite Marvel superhero? Deadpool. Before you even open the book, there's the man himself on the cover. What is happening? Is Chandler Morrison in the old west? Is this some sort of Army of Darkness sorcery? What gives? Well...there's no portals in this book. What we get is a risky dual-reality narrative that mostly pays off, but your mileage is going to vary. The hospital is quiet at night. Television gives the impression that large medical facilities are always bustling with frantic activity. That’s either a blatant untruth, concocted for the sake of dramatic set pieces, or Preston Druse Charity Hospital is an anomaly to which that particular rule does not apply. I don’t know. I don’t care. All I care about is the fact that thishospital, come nightfall, lowers its voice to a hushed murmur, permeated by the barely noticeable chirps of uncaring vitality monitors, the sparse staff’s whispered conversations, and the occasional steady sighs of a breathing machine. The halls are all but empty, excepting a few nurses’ stations and, sometimes, a skulking doctor frowning down at a clipboard.

Consider this your goddamn trigger warning. This story is short being a novella and totally entertaining. We follow an unnamed narrator as he goes about explaining and indulging in his unconventional proclivities and then he meets a girl...thus the story begins, but rest assured, this is unlike any love story you've ever come across. This is a nightmare made tangible both to the protagonist and the reader. It is clear from reading this book that Chandler Morrison has crafted an insightful look into the complex world of human emotions and how those can both empower and cripple us in equal measure. I feel bad giving this such a harsh review, but I have to say my piece: the main character is so focused on being as much of an antisocial edgelord as he possibly can be, it overshadows the gruesomeness of the entire plot. I’m not saying I needed him to feel guilty or be less of a “monster”, I just needed him to stop devoting his entire life to impressing 14-year-old white boys on reddit. in the beginning of the story, he meets a woman named Helen, who works at the same hospital as him, and who happens to like eating dead babies. YUP, you heard that right. Through its protagonist’s journey from darkness to light, it suggests that even in times of despair one can find a way to liberation.

The characters around her, such as her best friend CJ and boyfriend Gavrila, provide support during difficult times but also serve as a reminder that sometimes even those closest cannot fully understand or relate to our innermost feelings. At the same time, it questions how such spiritual beliefs may be challenged or undermined by scientific rationalism. Every trigger-warning is employed here. I won't include a list of them because (spoilers) but also because I can just say that if you think of a trigger, it's present in this book. ALL OF THEM.

I don't like that you made me a smoker in your book," Autumn says, hitting her cigarette. "I've never been a smoker." the least you could do is pretend to enjoy it. I give damn good head, so if you didn’t get anything out of that, you’re either gay or, or ... I don’t know, not right." As a brief aside I wanted to mention my favorite character in the novella was simply known as the piano man. I wanted more from this mysterious figure but alas, maybe we will learn more about him in another time and place. The late great Sig Haig would have been the absolute perfect casting in an adaptation.i’ve never been any kind of athlete or anything, but am i seriously the only person who realizes that infants are the perfect punting shape? if we replaced footballs with babies, i would have been far more successful in high school gym class.” this man…💀 What do you mean, I ask, my own voice sounding blander than I’d intended, but I’ve never been all that great at expressing myself, either. I don’t even know what I’m supposedto express right now. She’s buttoning her blouse, and all I can think about is how silly it was of her to unbutton it in the first place; the little favor she’d tried to perform didn’t require any nakedness on her part. Showing off, perhaps? Her breasts are decent, but not spectacular, and she didn’t take off her bra, so there wasn’t much to show, anyway. Even if she had, would it have made a difference? Turned me on, so to speak? I doubt it. That had been the point of this whole experiment: to see if anything had changed. Debbie: That's so awesome as I agree, I consider The Satanist up there with Reign in Blood, Rust in Peace, and Number of the Beast! It's PERFECT from start to finish and that's so cool you have it on vinyl. I've been meaning to get myself a vinyl player and buy perfect albums like that which will never get old to play over weekends. Maybe I'll do it as a To: Me, From: Me, birthday gift or something end of the year :-P Chandler Morrison’s novel, Dead Inside, is a powerful exploration of human emotion and inner turmoil. And if that means my mind is kinda deviated at this point then by all means. I won't complain about it. Nope. 𝐈 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐀 𝐁𝐀𝐃𝐆𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐑.

Through raw and honest writing, the author allows readers to witness firsthand the struggles of his protagonists. In this way, Morrison encourages readers to reflect on their own lives as they observe characters dealing with such difficult topics as grief and depression.Let’s wrap it up with my trademark closing paragraph, complete with social media friendly quotable line. In terms of the storyline, it’s set in Las Angeles, 1854 where a gang of men go on a horrific killing spree. They are pursued by the town Sheriff who is in love with a local prostitute. Nothing too unique but still thoroughly entertaining! This is exactly the way I like it. I am a harmless phantom, floating below the radar of perception, granting me a ghostly existence that permits me to freely engage in my unusual extracurriculars.
