When Reggie isn't drawing, he loves exploring San Diego, CA, watching anime, and hanging out with his wife Demi and min pin Bruce. As the most iconic and well-known children’s book brand in the UK today, we are always on the lookout for innovative ways to tell the world’s favourite stories and for brilliant new debut talent and brands that connect with today’s young readers, from newborn up to twelve years old. This was particularly important for me as reader because while this message is universal amongst the entire Black community, it is still important to remember that we are not a monolith and that even though we have shared experiences, we have so many more that are different. Add to that the incredible work of 18 black illustrators who have collaborated with Dapo on the illustrations and you have something very special indeed.

A motivational and inspirational picture book about exploring, and embracing, your individual traits. But she also dedicates a lot of time to improving her second language (French), reading and, recently, going on forest walks. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. Through Adeola’s inspiring words and the illustrations’ different perspectives, children are encouraged to see their greatness and revel in the diversity of Blackness. I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books.Dapo was announced as the winner of the inaugural Illustrator of the Year Award for The Laugh Out Loud Book Awards (the Lollies), which celebrates the best and funniest children's books in the UK and Ireland, voted for by children in 2023.

Each double page spread, and the end papers, are all created by one of the eighteen talented Black illustrators assembled from all over the world or this book. A picture book quite unlike any other, because each double page spread features the artwork of a different artist. We use Google Analytics to see what pages are most visited, and where in the world visitors are visiting from. With rare exceptions such as bank holidays, the book group meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 7. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2012, where she earned a Bachelors in Fine Arts degree, specializing in graphic design. But to keep ourselves on our toes, we have a rule that author gender is alternated, girl-boy-girl-boy, and the continents always rotated (with occasional glitches). Remember to dream your own dreamsLove your beautiful skinYou always have a choiceThis book addresses – honestly, yet hopefully – the experiences Black children face growing up with systemic racism, as well as providing hope for the future, delivering a powerful message to a new generation of dreamers.
