Lastly we get another tempo ballad in "Here's To Us" which is a nice way to close an enjoyable record, rather surprisingly this is the albums second single, which in my view is an odd choice as it isn't strong enough. Getting the listener back in to hearing electric guitars and heavy drums, but with a chorus that makes the song sound like an opera, with its dramatic use of organs and vocals. Every note Lzzy sings is a catchy one that is easily accessible to anyone, while featuring surprising explicit lyrics. It’s really hard to choose the right superlatives to describe her vocal ability, but she has the best aspects of several singers; she is extremely confident, dynamic and has the attitude. It was of course the lead single from the album and deservedly so as it showcases Lzzy Hale’s vocal talent that I feel is second to none in the female rock voice department at the moment, I mean this girl can sing!

The nice mix of songs and the perfect production would make this a good album, but the singing ability of Lzzy Hale makes this a superb album. Hyde,” the singer wears the monster’s mask, and the song becomes a strong candidate for the album’s most apotheotic moment. The bipolar tone and the singularity of Lzzy’s voice ( alto) cause our attention to wander between the instruments’ sharpness and the vocals’ turmoil. Those of you that have brought the deluxe edition will be treated with three extra bonus tracks, a couple of which are possibly stronger then the album tracks themselves, "Don't Know How To Stop" and "Hate It When You See Me Cry. I was extremely proud of Halestorm when we released it, and I still love it, but I think I was using mostly one musical technique throughout,” explains frontwoman Lzzy Hale.

With echoes of Garbage and Hole, Lizzie Hale has given us a stormer of an album, which grabs you from the very first track and doesn't let go until the last track fades away. The track American Boys, as the title would suggest, is not quite the manliest of songs on the album. I Miss The Misery” was a guaranteed radio hit, and in this case, this is not a derogatory comment; Lzzy’s performance is exceptional and truly exciting. From the first time that Ι listened to Halestorm I was pretty sure that this band was going to blow our minds!

The ballads are perfectly nice as rock ballads, though some of them (eg here's to us) sound like melodies I have heard before.
