partners sold their interests to a manager, George Fraser, who had formerly been employed at a competing brewery. Undaunted, Susannah Oland and her sons continued working at the brewery, which had been renamed the Army and Navy Brewery in honor of its Moosehead, however, did not follow this trend. Instead, it attempted to boost sales by finding a new market for its core product. In 1975, Derek Oland, the son of then chairman Philip Oland, suggested that Moosehead should push into the US, a venture

Moosehead exited my life for the next few *ahem* decades, until I saw it in my local grocery store a few weeks ago. I started laughing when I saw it, told my wife the sweatshirt story, and made an addition to the future review list. Beer Stats & Info Moosehead Lager is a Canadian beer, brewed by Moosehead Breweries. It was first brewed in 1867, making it one of the oldest continuously operating breweries in North America. The beer is brewed with spring water from the Saint John River. It is a light-bodied lager with a slightly sweet taste. In 2005, Moosehead Lager won Gold at the prestigious Monde Selection; the company had also won Gold medals at the World Beer Cup and 2003 Canadian Brewing Awards. [10] Why is this Canadian-brewed beer an *American* all-malt lager and not an adjunct lager? (note: the 'adjunct lager' style has since been changed to 'macro lager'). Moosehead Breweries Ltd. may not have used adjuncts, but perhaps they should have. At least then, there'd be some flavor. Better yet, add more ingredients and give us some beer with our beer.

In 2016, two of the company's products won a Gold and a Silver award, respectively. [3] Light, weak flavor is carried on a light, weak body. There's some slight hoppiness I guess, but the IBUs have to be in the single digits. Again, it isn't assertive enough to have a bad flavor, and is, in that sense at least, drinkable. This is one of the weakest non-light beers that I've ever consumed.
