Description

This generously sized loaf tin from Circulon is a lightweight offering with ultra-handy lips at the top and bottom of the cake tin. Having had a look at the tins, the two-pound tin looks about right and the one-pound tins maybe a little too small. The coating, with specially formulated ProCook Ultra BK double layer non-stick, is designed for easy turning out of all cakes. The cake itself was fluffy, spongy and moist inside, with even and consistent browning around the outside.

This is a commercial tin and if I take a supermarket pan loaf it fits right in, with a little poking out the top.

Ideal for starting off a new home, or replacing your old tins as they finally give up the ghost, they’re made from carbon steel to give you years and years of great service. Hi, I made your Chocolate Orange Loaf Cake (Kitchen, p308) today and found that the mixture rises so much above my tin that it falls onto the bottom of my oven. The absolute key to a successful outcome is to keep checking on your cake regularly, using a kitchen time to remind you. If your first experiment with your chosen tin size was not successful, you may need to try the recipe again but also altering the oven temperature.

Lowering the oven temperature the next time you bake the recipe may result in more even cooking of the mixture, with the middle cooking as the top browns, rather than a burnt top and a raw middle. The lack of lip made turning the cake out a little bit of a fiddly process, yet it slipped out of the tin easily with no sticking at all. Using the 500g of flour type of recipe (or a multiple of this), what might be a good tin size to use for a final loaf that will be good for sandwiches etc? Oven safe up to 230 degrees, this loaf tin is dishwasher safe for added convenience and has been crafted from durable steel. If there is still mixture on the skewer, you need to put the cake back in the oven for another five minutes and then keep checking on it as before.Compared to the 2 pound capacity long covered baker, Alexander explained, “A 9 x 5 loaf pan, for instance would be only 124” cubed which would hold only around a 1 1/4 pound loaf.
