A quickfire tour through the history of ghosts throughout history and different cultures, myths and legend, right through to modern 19th-21st century experiences and their use in pop culture. I think this one appealed to me a little bit more, guess I’m just more of a ghost fan than aliens, but I feel that each of these works, with their useful glossaries and resources, would be quite appropriate for teens and preteens who are interested in outré subjects. On a side note, this book debunks just about all the big ghost stories and shines light on what actually happened. Overall, this was a fun read, but not particularly striking - there isn't anything especially groundbreaking that I learnt from it, so I may end up forgetting aspects of it pretty quickly, besides it's excellent illustration and design!

The artwork is by far and away the biggest asset to this book, it straddled the line between infographic and illustrative style in just the right way, and every page was full of fun characters and objects to make this a really visually engaging read. The illustrations in this book are what really sells it though, they are so eye catching and perfect for the subject matter.This book has been put together in a fantastic way and the text complements the illustrations perfectly. I would have loved to see the graphic novel go a bit or in-depth with some of the writing and details but without it just makes it an excellent starting guide and introduction to ghosts and ghost hunting.

Even after I’d finished reading I found myself flicking through the pages and just appreciating the quality of the book and its illustrations.The illustrations are beautiful, very soft and inviting, allowing you to concentrate on the facts whilst providing good context for the information. I guess I just read too many magic books as a kid and am used to the "A good magician never reveals his secrets" stick. It did touch upon a lot of different subjects such as haunted locations, ghost legends and the media etc… but again it was too brief and was mostly a couple of sentences for each explanation. Prepare to embark on a strange journey that allows skeptical inquiry, or perhaps the possibility of believing in the afterlife! This graphic novel goes through detailed accounts of past and present experiences of ghosts with some wonderful artwork to accompany it.
