From understanding child anxiety and OCD, to learning how to talk with an anxious child, to avoiding common traps and pitfalls (such as being overly protective or demanding), to identifying the ways in which parents have been enabling a child's anxious behaviors, this book is full of detailed guidance and practical suggestions.

This is an excellent self-help book for young people who are suffering from OCD and their families and/or carers but it is also an invaluable resource for clinicians, teachers and other professionals who may be working with children with these difficulties. Whether one is compelled to clean more and more thoroughly, is plagued by "bad" thoughts, or feels the need to keep checking if they've turned off appliances, obsessive worries can become a drain on daily life--but this guide offers hope for sufferers.Very happy with the way things are going so far and also pleased with how smoothly it was set up and assessed as to what I was after and a service that fitted around my work and life balance.

I'm wary about reading books like this because sometimes they're not written by professionals, or people with actual doctorates and knowledge and experience treating OCD. A really helpful guide for everyone with OCD, or for anxiety sufferers like myself who often find themselves exhibiting OCD symptoms. I can't recommend Anxiety UK enough as they were a godsend to me while I waited on my psychology Appointment with NHS which took over a year. Since its first publication in 1999, the OCD Workbook has become among the most trusted and recommended OCD resources available.

They were also super helpful when unfortunately our schedules didn't align, and I was matched with a therapist with availability that matched mine. Because of this it is important to involve an adult helper to encourage you to fight your OCD symptoms. After each chapter there is a chance to review what worked or did not work, and you can either continue working on that OCD task or set your next challenge.

After each task they also scheduled a time to sit down and review the tasks, and a time to schedule in something that Chloe could look forward to doing to encourage her to want to continue facing her worries.

Parents will learn how to alleviate their children's anxiety by changing the way they themselves respond to their children's symptoms - importantly, parents are not required to impose changes on their children's behavior.
