I primarily play with direct in tools now (POD GO and Iridium) but wanted to put together a simple little board around a couple of my keeper pedals into a 1 watt Wangs VT-1H, for jamming at the house.

The current CH1 uses a digital processor to generate the delay for the Chorus, which is fine for most part EXCEPT if you're planning on running it on a 9V battery. For example, the plastic knobs grip the pot shafts tightly enough to ensure that they won't easily go astray, and this is something basic we've not seen on pedals in recent months that are much higher spec and considerably more expensive. Overdrive is literally what you get when a tube is pushed beyond its voltage limits causing a clip in the top of the waveforms resulting in a slight warm, fat and sometimes, sizzly tone.It worked better and didn't pull the volume down as bad, but the biggest annoyance I found is that the rate tempo can be heard even when the pedal is turned off. If your foot isn't heavy and you aren't particular with needing extra frills and controls with chorus, this pedal gets the job done.
