This coat is nice to bring along in lots of conditions thanks to its versatile and comfortable material. I have another similar jacket (Arctic Gemini, dark coloured Goretex) that does not have this problem. This jacket is a first rate product, I had been looking extensively for a decent waterproof resistant jacket and this does as it says.

To reproof the jacket first you will need to clean the jacket from any dirt or grime by using a recommended cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash [NO Detergents or Softeners]. The original one, which must now be over 20 years old, is still in use as a gardening jacket and although in a pretty decrepit condition, still keeps the rain out!

The Men's Cornice III GORE-TEX® Jacket from Berghaus is the jacket of choice for many walkers, whatever the weather. It is waterproof, windproof and breaths well provided you do not have too many layers for the breathability to cope with. Pleased to note that the new one is just as good with a better hood and lining so an absolute no-brainer for me to recommend this jacket. With Gore-Tex 2L waterproof protection, it’s designed to keep every drop of the harshest downpour on the outside. While the style has changed little over the years I’m afraid the shape has narrowed and the medium leaves no room for extra warmth in winter.

This classic GORE-TEX® waterpoof hilwalking jacket from Berghaus has been popular ever since it was first released in 1993.It will start undoing from the bottom or as with the last jacket it ripped the zipper from the fabric.
