Duppy Share White Rum was produced and co-founded with musical pioneer Kano, as a vibrant celebration of Jamaica and its influence on the world.
Taste is smooth, slightly sweet with again citrus tones, fresh grass, pineapple and tropical fruits. The Duppy Share has a fun vibe to it, so I guess some more snobbier elements of the rum world don’t tend to take the brand too seriously.The addition of mango, peppercorn, lemongrass, and other culinary ingredients to the profile adds depth, resulting in a genuinely distinctive and full-bodied experience. The Duppy White is their latest release (although there is a potential Duppy XO in the works as well) made in collaboration with the British actor and musician Kano.The label features oodles of references to Kano's life and Jamaican culture, styled similarly to a 7-inch record. Reminiscent of Amaretti biscuits and the world’s favourite Italian liqueur, almond aromas are deep, intense and deliver a flavour which is popular around the world. The Duppy Share folks teamed up with the brilliant British musician and actor Kano to create Duppy White!The General Wine Company sources wines from all over the world, but with a particular focus on small, independent producers. Under this very attractive bottle, Duppy Share rum is a blend of rums from Barbados (Foursquare), aged 3 years in American oak barrels and rums of 5 years of age from Jamaica, distillery and estate of W orthy Park then bottled in London by The Wesbourne Drinks Co.
If I was in Jamaica I’d drink like everyone else there but here in Queensland the duppy white is a very good alternative to that fantastic taste of Jamaica which we have all been missing out on for too long. Nothing says Caribbean quite like the sweet taste of the coconut and with Malibu not only do you get that, you also get the sweet, heady taste of premium white rum. Something which once again might raise suspicion/affect credibility in the upper echelons of Rum Enthusiasts but will probably be of interest to the “youth” of today. Like so many of the classic cocktail favourites, the origins of the Mojito cocktail have been lost and blurred over the years. Caribbean legend has it that the dark duppy spirits swoop between the islands stealing the best share of the rum.It has been available in most major retailers and UK supermarket chain Morrison’s for quite some time now.
