An international bestseller when it was first published, The Earth from the Air is a visual record of the world's diversity.

For more than 25 years, French photographer Patrick Cariou has traveled to places around the globe, documenting people living on the fringes of society. It is hard to believe that then years have already passed since I first set off on this Earth From Above adventure, with my small team of followers around me. have become famous as more and more people are concerned about environmental issues, but as we learn here all the facts has already been around for many years. In 1994, intent on conveying his perspective on environmental sustainability to other humans, Arthus-Bertrand successfully attained sponsorship from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the purposes of a long-term photographic project entitled, "The Earth From Above, Wild Animals, Horses, and 365 Days". Yann Arthus-Bertrand's photographs are regularly exhibited in cities across the world and stand as the ongoing visual record of the planet we all inhabit. With thrilling photography, essays, and revisions throughout, this edition of Earth from Above is a portrait of our world that poignantly juxtaposes evidence of humanity's destructive impact with the planet's raw beauty. That work became Earth from Above , which has now been translated into more than two dozen languages. Although part of the cars were removed before the flood, a thousand of them were submerged for months and ended up destroyed. Earth From Above is a documentary series dedicated to the major challenges faced by our planet, bringing the viewer beautiful High Definition images of the Earth.

He lived amongst the Massai tribe for 3 years to study the behaviour of a lions’ family and took daily pictures of them during those years. The book from this project, Earth from Above (‘la Terre vue du ciel’) sold over 3 million copies and was translated into 24 languages. The project includes a photo essay-style collection of aerial photography produced by Arthus-Bertrand, in which the photographer captured vistas of Earth from various aircraft during a ten-year period.Glacier tongue, Sary-Jaz Mountains, Kyrgyzstan — "I decided to do a work on the beauty of the Earth, and on the impact of man on the planet," said Arthus-Bertrand of his ambitious project.

The success has changed us; we are increasingly more demanding of the depth of our knowledge of the Earth and her environment. The Need to Know, a photo book, is my exploration of the meager details that emerged from brief and cryptic conversations with my father and my curiosity about Cold War espionage and its impact upon my family at the time. These words are as important to me as the images, because I see our role here on the planet as gardeners nurturing it for future generations and not conquerors of a hostile environment to be subdued and plundered. Monterey-based photographer Debra Achen was born and raised near Pittsburgh, PA, where she developed a passion for both nature and art. A present from Sam a long time ago (we first saw an outdoor exhibit of Arthus-Bertrand's photographs in Amsterdam and I loved them--ignore how snotty that sounds), in 2014 I made a goal of actually reading this day by day (or every few days) throughout the year, as I believe the book is meant to be enjoyed. As part of the study, he made a picture inventory of the world's most beautiful landscapes, taken from helicopters and hot-air balloons. His project, "Black Diamond," captured the lives of people, including men, women, and children, dedicated to coal extraction in grueling conditions. The documents, as essential as they are intriguing—draft lyrics, notebooks, and diverse ephemera— comprise one of the most important cultural archives in the modern world. From there, his portraits and lifestyle photos were published all over the world, in pretty much every major magazine and media out there, including The New York Times, BBC, National Geographic and more.

With the money from the oil, the population of the town very close to Fort McMurray has rapidly increased over the past few years. In addition to the images for which the original is renowned, this version includes 100 new photographs and seven new essays by experts on environmental issues. The Heart of Voh, New Caledonia — This image of a heart-shaped patch of land, which also adorned the cover of Arthus-Bertrand's book, is one of his most famous photographs from the ambitious project. Edited by Mark Davidson and Parker Fishel, BOB DYLAN: MIXING UP THE MEDICINE focuses a close look at the full scope of Dylan’s working life, particularly from the dynamic perspective of his ongoing and shifting creative processes—his earliest home recordings in the mid-1950s right up through Rough and Rowdy Ways (2020), his most recent studio recording, and into the present day. Feedback from a great many readers, as well as discussions with scientists, has reinforced our understanding, but at the same time has raised certains doubts.

Many of the captions and interspersed essays did not strike my as fair and objective, but as slanted propaganda.
