The only major drawback to this book is that the all of the explanations are in French and they are brief. A series of workbooks, also written for this course and published by Hachette under the title Exerçons-nous: Grammaire goes from ‘Débutants’ to ‘Niveau Supérieur II’. This book didn’t earn its reputation by accident—it contains some of the most accessible and clearest explanations of the hardest rules out there. Of course, if you pass by Oxford, check out Blackwells because it has all the books needed for the French prelims.If you’re tired of your usual boring French textbook, grab your copy of this book and start learning French grammar the un-boring way today! That said, it feel strongly that it would serve as an excellent accompaniment reference to the McGraw Hill publications mentioned above. For a learner who moves a bit faster and can handle more information, I’d definitely recommend Moreau’s book. These examples would make sense to someone who already has the knowledge (perhaps revising) but if you are using the book from beginning to end they are inappropriate, actually unhelpful.
