About this deal

I won’t get into details which can be found in the operations guide, however setting is pretty easy. The base model is the GR-B200, equipped with a Carbon Core Guard structure and Quad Sensor featuring compass, altimeter/barometer, temperature reader and pedometer. The Casio G-Shock GPW-1000RAF is a limited edition in the Gravitymaster series, designed in cooperation with the British Royal Air Force and color/contrast-wise inspired by its Chinook helicopters. It does NOT have the ‘auto illumination’ feature that appears on some G-Shocks (the twist of the wrist illuminator activation)…. If I had known that there is a version of this RAF I would have bought this as I was very confused between 1A and 1B model (The 1A with the blue ring and red hand…).

Designed in collaboration with the Royal Air Force, this Special Edition Casio G-Shock Gravitymaster is packed full of mission critical features and is built to withstand the most extreme adventures. For example, the three knobs on the right side of the watch are arranged to resemble a helicopter control stick, while at the same time allowing an easy operation. Countdown Timer Function: A stopwatch that counts backwards: When 0 minutes, 0 seconds is reached, the timer emits a 10-second signal tone, Countdown Range: 24 hours, Measuring Unit: 1 second. When in any of the other modes, ST, TI or AL, it doesn’t work and so you can’t use the functions, nor read the time when using other modes than just the regular time. Some small remarks from my side: the sub dial on the 11 position isn’t the zulu/ Utc time but the 24hr indicator for the home time. As the seconds and minutes of the stopwatch are indicated on the sub register at 8, which is originally the second time zone dial of the watch, I’m curious what will happen after 24 minutes when the 24-hour scale of the dial ends.

Thermometer Function: A built-in temperature sensor measures the ambient temperature around the watch and displays it on the LCD, Measuring range: -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F); measuring unit: 0. In terms of aesthetics, it is designed and inspired by the Eurofighter Typhoon stealth aircraft which has a simple colour scheme. After that, the second hand will indicate the bearing to the recorded location, whilst the digital display shows the distance to the location. Not much to worry about, but for a high-end (probably even the highest-end) model of G-Shock a bit strange to learn. This GR-B200 model is the result of a collaboration between the tough G-SHOCK GRAVITYMASTER and the Royal Air Force (RAF), the world's oldest air force.

If you are in the market for a high performing timepiece, and you are an aviation fan, this G-Shock GRB200RAF Gravitymaster collaboration is for you. Power Saving: The following operations are stopped to save power: all hand movement (excluding the day indicator), Bluetooth connection, if applicable and alarms. The dark grey base colour is similar to that of a stealth aircraft body, while white and green accent colours create the image of its cockpit glass. G-SHOCK is already the watch of choice for many in the Armed Forces, and this limited-edition release further cements the partnership as an official licensee of the Ministry of Defence,” the company says.

After 30 seconds the 1/20th second hand resides at 12 and will spin to the exact 1/20th of a second when stopping the stopwatch. Carbon core guard, mixed positioning of metal and resin buttons, awesome white accents on buttons and sensors, wonderful luminosity resembling the cockpit of Eurofighter, countless features (quad sensor with step tracker, bluetooth. The major features of the GR-B200RAF include Bluetooth smartphone link and a Quad Sensor with altimeter-barometer, compass, thermometer, and step tracker.
