There are certainly lighter sleeping pads on the market if you need an ultralight option, but for most backpackers or hikers, the Static V2 will be light enough. After years of Therm-a-Rest that are just not enough cush for getting-older-bones, I stumbled on this pad from an on-line sale. It was also wider, meaning my arms were on the mat rather than hanging off the sides, on the ground.

There is no insulation inside, so for cooler trips this may be a bit cold for some, but for most summer trips it should be fine.
