About this deal

The latest of these companion novels reviewed here is Lucas on the Line, published in 2022 and written by Suyi Davies ( Black Boy Joy. I enjoyed this book a lot and it was a fun and realistic installment in the 'Stranger Things' universe. A flashback to that day hits me: the screaming, the sound of shaking trees, the pound of the Spider Monster’s feet, blood—so much blood. For longer sessions, when I might need food/drink/spare ree/lightweight waterproof etc, I use a small Brady bag or lightweight Lowe Alpine day sac.

I am as happy with my approach on the French chalk as in the Massif Central, on the historic British rivers, the rivers of Eastern Europe, and the wonderful lakes in the Tasmanian central plateau. This book starts before season 5 and then continues about halfway through the episodes, which worked out quite well. Unlike middle school, where it was either bus or bike if you weren’t dropped off, now there’s students arriving in their own cars—loud, abrupt, some almost doing wheelies as they park. I always love the settings in 'Stranger Things' books as it expands the world so much more from the show and makes Hawkins, Indiana really come to life. But I would be lying if I said a huge part of me didn’t want to go right back and try again and again until she’d talk to me.

Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Over the show’s first four seasons, the cast has grown and (even with long run times for each episode) not every character gets their time in the spotlight. One of the greatest slices of this universe is the companion novels that focus on individual characters.

He and Erica constantly get shit talked and miss characterized by fans, get excluded/cut out of group shots, and barely get any fanart/fics about them and their struggles compared to the white characters (I could make a whole new post about the terrible way this fandom treats Erica but I won’t do that here). Lucas meets Jay, his student mentor, and one of the only other Black students he’s ever shared a conversation with. I didn’t even know it was possible because I love Lucas so much but this book made me love him even more! His exploration of identity, being one of the only black people in Hawkins, being a “nerd” and being a “jock” are all explored. My father was injured at work and decided to go to art college, and when I was five we moved to London, living at first in a tent in Epping Forest before finding a council flat in Hackney.

Mike is sulky over El, Dustin spends most of his free time on the ham radio with Suzy, Will has moved, and Max is blowing him off and he doesn't know how to reach her. This is a little nit-picky but I wish this was told in third person (limited) instead of first person. He de decir que esta reseña es solo mi opinión, y es totalmente válido como si alguien coincide conmigo como si no. This book provides much more perspective into Lucas’ sudden shift in priorities in the fourth season of the show. He wants high school to be different and doesn’t want to have to go through getting bullied anymore and he wants to make new friends.

This book gives some more insights to what Lucas is going through, especially at the start of high school and trying to find out who he is outside of the group. Dry fly is without any doubt my go to method; the only method actually in which I have supreme confidence. Not even to his general moping, which began from the second we learned that Will and El will not be joining us for the school year because the Byerses are moving permanently to California. This book delves into Lucas's mind before and during season 4, giving so much more insight and impact to his actions.

and most post are people praising ElMax and then being like “oh Lucas/lumax is cute too” in the tags and that’s it). You’ve finally finished crying over the finale (you think) and have no idea what to do with yourself during the grueling wait for Season 5.Y es que Lucas al principio de la serie no me caía tan tan bien, pero conforme avanzaron las temporadas y sobre todo con la temporada 4, se ganó un rinconcito de mi corazón. With everything that went on in season 4, it seems that they both got the short end of the stick because their struggles with racism were not put on screen. I realize now that maybe the problem is not Jay, but me—us— and how I've interpreted his family's status just because of where he lives. It ends with her being held by Lucas and the “I’m here”, part which is a good ending but I think because we already got that in the show, it would have better, I think to end the book with Lucas getting ready for the game. Like the other companion books , Lucas on the Line is tied to the timeline of events shown during Season 4.
