Since its introduction in 1986, The New English Hymnal, containing 542 items, has been adopted in virtually every Anglican cathedral, many Roman Catholic cathedrals and in well over 1000 parishes.

The words of several hymns have been altered slightly, although it nonetheless enjoys continuing favour in a considerable number of cathedrals and collegiate chapels worldwide and it is a significant publication in Anglican church music. The Editors of the Revised English Hymnal – which is a revision and consolidation of the whole English Hymnal tradition, from 1906 to today – have prepared this indicative list of contents to show to potential purchasers the range and depth of the new hymnal.We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause, we hope that a new customs control will be in place in the future that will allow businesses to export goods to the EU without needing expensive third parties.

It includes general hymns; hymns for feasts, seasons and saints' days; office hymns for the liturgical year; an enlarged eucharistic section; responsorial psalms; and a new English folk mass setting.

An asterisk indicates an item not included in the latest major edition, the New English Hymnal (1986).
