About this deal

While the Acer gets brighter in SDR, the LG gets a bit brighter in HDR and has an improved color volume for more vivid colors. I was pretty impressed with its performance when a couple of Evil Genius pros showcased its high refresh rate and low latency in a few matches of Valorant. Don’t compromise quality for speed; the LG UltraGear OLED screen delivers a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio for a deep, detailed quality picture and a lifelike gaming experience. With some business devices, office files and images can also be presented directly with a USB stick or a mouse can be connected via the USB input (USB-A).

Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). And when it’s time to game or watch Netflix, I would often find myself stabbing the bundled remote’s “raise brightness” key only to find out it was already maxed. Computers have a number of ports and sockets that enable the user to plug-in various peripherals such as a printer, USB mouse, or, perhaps most importantly of all, an Internet connection. Asus has one in its ROG lineup, Corsair launched a Xeneon model late last year, and LG has the 27GR95QE-B in its UltraGear range.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. What can amp up that clarity even further is HDR, which I’ve often described as removing a haze from whatever you’re looking at, letting dark be dark and light be light instead of compressing all the colors in between.

a 240Hz, 1440p display that packs things in even tighter at only 27 inches and is the first OLED gaming monitor to hit that form factor. There was no ghosting to be seen in any test scenario, and thanks to official support for both Nvidia’s G-Sync and AMD’s FreeSync Premium, there’s no screen tearing. Another problem I often found is that the HDR can be a little inconsistent, and I found that it tended to oversaturate the colors in a distracting way.

Smart Energy Saving mode is applied by default to optimize power consumption, but you can enjoy a brighter gaming experience by turning it off. The disadvantage here is that although the image is displayed larger than fed, the original individual pixels may become much more visible as they are multiplied by the conversion. And in the Blur Busters’ UFO test, a high-speed photograph I took showed a pristine UFO where other displays exhibited ghosting. But when my wife occasionally opens up the curtains, it’s true that the LG OLED doesn’t have any extra oomph to power through the sheen on its anti-glare screen. But it’s still a relevant concern to bring up if you plan on using the UltraGear OLED 27 for daily use outside of gaming. That’s a decent selection for a gaming monitor, though, as always, I’d like to see a full-spec USB-C port. That’s the inability to drive the whole display to its max brightness, the same issue I saw with the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ. So far, I’ve only put in about 700 hours on the LG 27GR95QE-B, and I haven’t yet found a test image that shows any burn-in at all. Bit of a niche proposition: this is for people with high-end PCs who want to run HDR games at high frame rates in low-light conditions.

Every part of that looks amazing because the majority of the scene is dark, with only those lights I just described — the glint of armor, ripples of sunlight in the moving water, flying sparks from a chainsaw — bursting through the scene.Unfortunately, it has some text clarity issues with color fringing, and its OLED panel is prone to burn-in with exposure to static elements over a long period. It's still fine if you don't need the best of the best in terms of gaming monitors, and it's better performing than the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM, but the Dell Alienware AW3423DWF also offers better picture quality with an ultrawide screen for only a bit higher cost.
