Every time you win a duel successfully, your goatherd value goes up, making you more likely to win, but watch out! You do so by stacking pairs of matching goat cards in front of you and stealing opponent’s goats before the draw pile runs out. Anyhow, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own review but I don’t think accusations of stealing are the way to deal with that opinion.

If you enjoy careful, deliberate planning and water-tight strategies then this game might not be in your favorites stack. The included directions make it seem challenging to figure out but I watched a video on how to play which explained it well.

We often find that games tend to bias the adults, as they understand tactics and gameplay better which makes it fairly tedious for younger players who rarely win (unless the adults let them! OBJECT OF GOAT LORDS: The objective of Goat Lords is to be the player with the largest herd of goats by the end of the game. The basic premise is players try to acquire a stack of cards consisting of matching goats, each of which is worth from five to fifty points. BECOME THE GOAT LORD: The GOAL of this hilariously strategic card game is to become Lord of the Goats!

So if you steal a big pile and succeed in holding on to it for an entire round, you can play a new stack on top and protect it. If you do not take it too seriously, small disagreements about the rules will not lead to hurt feelings. This game has been such a hit with everyone we’ve played it with that we end up giving away our copy of the base game as well as the expansion as soon as we finish playing to the people we just played it with because they loved it so much! I’m not sure why some of the 1-3 Star reviews had issues with the rules as they are pretty straight forward and the action cards are self explanatory.Each player adds up the total value of their herd by counting the points of each goat in their hand. The creators have certainly shown lots of creativity creating a game that's so entertaining and amusing!

You do so by stacking pairs of matching goat cards in front of you and stealing opponent's goats before the draw pile runs out.

When the draw pile has been emptied, gameplay will continue around the group until their hands are empty. They may initiate the duel by showing a goat from their hand that matches that of the pair found on top of the opponent’s goat pile. At the end of each turn, players draw from the Draw Pile until they have the same amount of cards that they initially had at the beginning of the game (4 or 5). they both love the game, love stealing stacks and particularly love winning the 'mega stack' through careful playing of action cards or wilds.The player must have a goat card in their hand that matches the goats in the opponent's top pile, or a wild. PS it comes with a coupon code inside the box which can be used to purchase the expansion or another game from them! If the attacker wins, they gather all of the played cards and the top cards on the opponent’s goat pile, but if the defender wins, then they can collect all cards played during the duel.
