I don’t know what velvet is supposed to smell like, but this is definitely very velvety, sultry, sexy, luxurious and alluring. Something about the top notes I found mildly annoying, I assume it's the sage, which at that point makes it slightly masculine, but in 15 min or so it starts to settle into a dark powdery aromatic vanilla. This captivating fragrance encapsulates the distinct magnetism and charmingly captivating fashion synonymous with the GUESS brand.

While I do see the comparison between the two, Seductive Noir is missing that lavender that I absolutely adore in Mon Guerlain.After the initial quite unpleasant alcoholic scent it instantly transforms into this soft, feminine and delicate scent. at first spray, this smells like lolita lempicka to me-iris and anise, though there is no anise listed. I personally enjoy a LOT of vanilla in my fragrances, so I tend to layer with Philosophy Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere often, and it just adds the perfect depth!Seductive noir is like you removed the lavender from mon guerlain and threw in a dash of Lolita Lempicka. At the opening some may find it more "masculine" or sharp, but that sharpness disappears after 5-10 minutes and it becomes a sexy, dark, mix of floral and earthy notes.
