This sequel doesn't exactly continue from the end of the first novel, but provides enough of context to help us bridge to the events of this book. It just felt so authentic and added another layer of immersion to this novel for me being a New Yorker and all. Because Freida's hero is believable--as far as these sorts of stories go--and extremely sympathetic and brave and unrelenting. Once again, McFadden delivered with some mindless entertainment (if you’re looking for a literary masterpiece, this isn’t the book).

At this point, I could read another two books about her and her vigilante justice and would never get bored. brock deserves an abundance of love and happiness, just like millie mentioned, he deserves to be with a normal person. Is this threat connected to the Garrick family, or is something even more sinister lurking in the shadows, poised to threaten her life?
