About this deal

Carnation and rose are indeed most evident, but ylang-ylang is quite apparent as well, lending a ripe floral quality that makes this stage of AE more unisex than feminine. My nose might have changed, or maybe the perfume was reformulated because it doesn't smell quite the same to me.

It's not so usual to smell it anymore going out and I noticed that it had disappered from my Clinique counter. On me, the real magic starts to happen 20 minutes later and I find the overwhelmingly dominant note to be the patchouli held aloft by flowers and oakmoss.Well, this is pretty much like watching a performance from a Hollywood star look-alike, say Marilyn Monroe. My 79-year-old mother-in-law (who looks about 50) wears it though, which kinda spoils it on me for my husband and children 😅 but I still love it. I can only dream of what the 70s smelled like when normal women were walking around wearing this stuff. However, the florals cloud any bracing freshness/cleanness I'd expect from a fresh-cut wooden structure. This perfume is not a fit for me but if you want a power fragrance that is boss lady take no crap kind of perfume this is a good choice.

I have found myself deflated and dissatisfied with many of the modern fragrances I’ve tried since I got my first bottle of AE in 2017. Current version produced in 2023: Floral, floral, aldehydes, floral, incense, floaral, orris, and floral. This is such a beautiful fragrance, and just like everyone else, I have such beautiful memories with this fragrance. It is a bitter, balsamic, menacingly astringent blend of cool, otherworldly woods and sour alien herbs, abstract florals and austere resins. Its just rained and there is a mistiness about the fallen trees and dried leaves crunching under my feet.

As it happens, I love chamomile and its (floral-medicinal) bracing completeness and smelling it in a perfume is sublime; perfect wave of warmth to this dull day. Alas, time shapes tastes, and unfortunately tastes in scent have really gone in a less dynamic and complex direction, as evidenced in the many designers saturating the market with insipid or even offensive bilge containing overdoses of tonka, ambroxan, and iso e super. This stunning woman walked into the office where I worked to visit her husband who also worked there. I have no idea where I've encountered it, but most likely someone was wearing it while I was a kid in the '90s.

Please read the full reviews and consider your own needs and preferences before making a purchasing decision. It's close enough and just as strong that I could live with both but would obviously choose the cheaper option.I get them all together in that last breath; the bracing air, the herbs and spice from the tea, an incense from the fireplace.

Aromatics Elixir has a strong medicinal opening, very bitter, herbal and patchouli dominates the first 15 minutes. The current version, well, I do not want to be negative, but just let me say that this evoked the following evening when a skunk walked into the tent. Communications with the company only gave the standard answer that sometimes adjustments are made for various reasons. It's not an every day fragrance for me it's heady and has a way of transporting me back into time, but the patchouli is so good. Based on the notes I was almost certainly sure that I would like it, but for perfumes we have all learned our lessons, haven't we?
