What I appreciate about Thomson’s book is the variety of recipes, while her cooking is not plant-based there is a clever index of vegetarian recipes at the back of the book that helps for quick and easy reference. Some cookies are essential to the functioning of the site, but others are non-essential for analysis and marketing. There is something very old-fashioned about the the title of Claire Thomson’s new book, but there is nothing remotely fusty or quaint about the recipes in it, which are as vibrant as the book’s cover.Cool on a wire rack and then enjoy warm with some butter – or my more recent favourite – lemon marmalade! I made a batch of 8 plain scones and 8 apple and cinnamon scones but sadly the apple scones came out a little over done – so I haven’t featured them on here!
