About this deal

The texture of the moisturiser is lovely and similar to the Japanfusion Elixir and it sinks into the skin really well. This line sticks a little middle finger up the the K-Beauty trend claiming that Japan was ahead of the game and all grown up before K-beauty started gaining popularity.

And while I have long advocated for the range (particularly the Pure Transforming Cleanser, which provides the most fantastic daily cleanse), there is one new Beauty Pie product in particular which I consider to be the icing on the Japanfusion cake—Beauty Pie Shinkai Electrolyte Drench. I’m on my second one–the first one lasted forever, got me tons of compliments, and has a clever bottom that keeps it from breaking apart when it gets low. You need at least two capsules to cover your face and neck properly, they’re a bit of a faff to be honest and they make my skin sting. As a long standing user of oil and balm cleansers, I didn't find it to be oil like, but gel to milk is true. I haven’t used that exact cleanser but I have this and it is nice, I often use it for make up removal. This has a gel-cream like texture and naturally I assumed that like most gel based cleansers I use I’d just rub it onto wet skin. A] beautiful antioxidant-infused high-tech gel-to-oil-to-milk cleansing balm demonstrates that mastery. In fact, it is commonly used to evenly mix sunscreen ingredients such as avobenzone and ethylhexyl triazone. You can read up more on how the system works here* – the entire Japanfusion range is here* and the Retinol is here*. Unscrewing the lid showed me a plastic lid in between which I was happy to see alongside a little scoop to get the product out without using your fingers.

If you’re sensitive to fragrance this one is completely unscented – and makes a lovely, luxurious option. It’s not drying or stripping so you can use it if you have dry skin, it’s also not creamy and thick so you’d still love it if you have oily skin.

If you have spotted ethylhexylglycerin on the ingredient list, most probably you will see there also the current IT-preservative, phenoxyethanol. It was a pleasure to use and I whizzed through the pot in a month using it more or less morning and night. It’s quite sticky and does take a while for the tacky feeling to go, but I do rate this serum for achieving a glow. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. The fact that each of the steps used alone (the lotion is step one, serum is two, cream is step three) gives noticeable results means that I could have really focussed this post on any one of them.

All of the Japanfusion products contain antioxidants and ingredients to help repair and protect the skin’s barrier, but it’s the cream that provides that final layer and locks in moisture. I will finish continue my Big Beauty Pie review over the next few weeks, finishing off the skincare section and then on to the makeup. One more thing: the water used in cosmetics is purified and deionized (it means that almost all of the mineral ions inside it is removed). Another added ingredient of the Japanfusion Cleanser is Jabara Extract which is rich in Vitamin C, helping to prevent the appearance of blemishes and prevent early signs of aging. It's chock-full of antioxidants and rids the skin of dirt and make-up without a hint of upset—leaving skin silky-soft and noticeably more cushiony.
