This is a portal fantasy book, but if you’re anything like me and prefer high fantasy, don’t worry: the part in our world is very small at the beginning.But her situation is made all the more difficult because she has landed in Islor in the blood-soaked body of the Princess Romeria – an assassin from a neighbouring kingdom who is betrothed to Islor’s Prince, and she has just murdered the king and queen.
The romance is there, but not, and while there is certainly enough to keep romance readers satisfied, we know that it is just a hint of what is to come for these two, and I’m so excited to see how their story unfolds. But with their enemies closing in - and as she fights her growing feelings for the king - it's time for Romeria to find out who she truly is.The slow burn enemies to lovers romance between the two is angsty, full of tension and banter, and entirely full of chemistry. The dynamics between them is very interesting and I love their slow burning relationship; and let me tell you, the unexpected twist in the storyline was a… “Wow! I just want to point out that this book had some of my favorite tropes - enemies to lovers, ”betray me and I’ll kill you”, arranged marriage hence faking affection in public. He doesn't have anything in particular that screams book boyfriend and doesn't really shine in a field where competition has set impossibly high standards. And, yes, you'll be very frustrated when, at the end, instead of answers you'll end up having more questions than when you started.
This book began in a contemporary setting, and I was slightly disappointed and worried for a second because I (didn’t read the synopsis) had expected I would be reading a full fledged fantasy story. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. This is the first book in what will be a series so that point hasn’t been resolved yet and I’m interested in seeing where that part of the story leads. oh, Romy was exceptionally stealthy and a fine seductress; or, Zander was the benevolent king with a villainous streak.Princess Romeria's father, the king of Ybaris arranges the marriage of his daughter with the prince of Islor, now King Zander of Islor for peace. The plot is very interesting, though, I can’t say easy, there were a ton of informations about the politics, the differents entities / gods .
