SMW has always been one of my most complimented fragrances; I still have a bit of decant from 2012-2013 which I compared this to. I liked Metal Rain by Banana Republic - a very decent clone of the Creed scent, but it too had little to no longevity and sported a more common designer-like base eventually. The opening notes are like something out of a cleaning agent or insect repellent (as some have noted). Apart from a flash of mildly astringent citrus in the opening, Sillage settles immediately down into a lightly floral musk plus creamy ambroxian and doesn't really change.
this smells nothing like the strong grape scent of black currant,this stuff smells like a cancer causing pesticide that is horrible. Sillage dries down to a slightly woody analog of all that came before, and yes, it's pretty linear, but so is its template. I truly don't get the recent comments about the longevity, because the juice I got (made in October 2022) produces monstrous sillage and lasts 12+ hours on my skin. you constantly catch whiffs off it which great from a performance point of view but not with this strength and formula. I feel that these arabian perfumes have wild variations in quality between batches, that's why you see these completely different reviews.
The ambroxan really punches through and ends up similar to a lot of other stuff, it's probably what gives it that initial metallic vibe. However 4 sprays was way too many and it stayed on my skin like glue all day I could smell it on myself it was that strong.
like it does work in the air but the very synthetic composition of this frag just does not make it a very pleasant experience as the wearer.
As "Fragrance Apprentice" youtuber (former Creed employee) says "This is a better clone of Creed SMW 2013 than current SMW. Most of them I give Low rating: Armaf CDNI, Armaf CDN Milestone, Armaf Tres Nuit, Lattafa Fakhar Black, Lattafa Raghbah Wood Intense, Lattafa Asad. its that weird, intense "bathroom spray" lemon at the opening which is a little off-putting to deal with, the drydown to be much more clean floral, creamy white musk and that metallic smell is also present. Performance wise it is decent, i cannot say that it last more than 6 hours because i usually top up my perfume every break.
