About this deal

I had considered the possibility I had been fucked over, and asked the locals about this place, but nope. Now also include Farmcore/survival/climb the tech tree/crafting elements and little touches of a dozen other flavors, wink at the camera, and occasionally lighten things up with insights of profound wisdom. The protagonist doesn't want to fight or become stronger, but rather work on his farm and have a peaceful life. The hardest problems aren't ones that power can solve, they're universal, internal, and interpersonal. But it does seem that most of the books I liked I either forgot about or in some way grew out of liking them.

The story takes place in the countryside where a cultivator ran away to and somehow became stronger than he ever was when cultivating in a sect. It's not really a completed novel in its own right, or at least not in the typical story structure I expect with most fantasy. My axe hewed through trees, My saw made planks, my hammer drove in nails, and my plane made things level, fueled by the supernatural strength of cultivator, even if I was an exceptionally weak one. That, and being able to tear a stump out of the ground with nothing but brute strength would never get old. The story contains a lot of comedy, but beyond that there's a plot, fights, progression and foreshadowed threats and other events in the horizon for the second book.

The main guy feels mostly real there are a couple of times it feels like he is too accepting but a little suspension on disbelieve is expected. The story begins when he decides to leave the sect to become a farmer, as far away from the world of cultivators as possible. Though, it just never ends with the exception of 1 character mid-way, who then ends up being the same. The answer, I think, is the wish fulfillment aspect of it, which is done quite badly here in general: The protagonist reincarnates from our world into a fantasy world, but it seems the author didn't put much thought into why.

Une relative accalmie dans ce second tome nous prépare au volume 3, qui promet une forte dose d'action avec son tournoi.Watching Jin Rou build a farm, slowly come to the realisation that various members of his farm were Cultivators (he got the message when they presented him with the scattered swords of the bandits that were going to attack him) and slowly woo his wife, while just ambling about unaware that he was actually pretty powerful and solving problems he wasn’t even aware of was fun but it was also a plot that was done. They move forward, and forward some more, with occasional new threats appearing that become mini-episodes in the larger tale. His admittance was because one of the instructors flipped a coin when deciding his fate, because he just barely squeaked past. Beware of Chicken 1 could have been a standalone novel and it didn’t really cry out for a sequel, though it did leave itself open for one.
