About this deal

In the video you can see the difference in the reach between the regular Crop A Dile and the Big Bite. This new design requires you to really try to see from the side edge exactly where the punch will hit the paper. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. It has a 6″ reach, which means you can punch a whole anywhere you want on a 12×12 piece of paper rather than just along the edge. If you purchase this product, I'd suggest practicing on scrap paper first until you get the hang of it.

In addition to complying with OFAC and applicable local laws, Etsy members should be aware that other countries may have their own trade restrictions and that certain items may not be allowed for export or import under international laws. I bought the regular one a long time ago and so far I am not really feeling like I just HAVE to have the big bite. I discovered that you do need to use more pressure than the original Crop-a-dile to set your eyelets and brads. I have them on free hanging dowels only to have them unravel if someone forgets to secure the ends back up (I have 3 teen-preteen girls that also scrapbook). Just like its younger brother, the cropadile, the Big Bite is a powerful crafting tool that can punch through paper, leather, fabric, plastic, thin tin, chipboard and much more!We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! I love this tool, I loved the original but due to my dexterity issues did find spanning the two handles difficult.

I also found, like the original Crop-a-dile, this product does have a bit of a learning curve to it. But if you wish to travel with the tool then the dedicated box will give the tool more protection as it will stop it rattling around. It would seem that due to the weight of the Big Bite (being sturdy) and on a flat surface, aligning would be easier. The original Crop-a-dile has a separate punch mechanism that makes it easy to see down the barrel to line up your punching. Depending on whether you are punching with the 3/16 or 1/8" holes or setting your eyelets, verify that you are measuring the correct scale.

How quiet are these (vs my little hammer and punch for making holes--which I can't use after they go to bed it is so loud)? The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. I bought it (with a coupon of course) and it has stayed in it's original packaging for over a year taking up valuable space in my craft area. You can use the Big Bite to punch through paper, of course, but also leather, fabric, plastic, thin tin, chipboard and lots more.

However, if you use your eyelets to hold embellishments like tags or flowers on to your card front then you might want a longer reach. Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. There are markings on it for that reason, but as yet, I have not been able to figure it out without lots more effort than getting down to where the work is at my eye level. As gale mentioned, the Crop-a-dile (regular or Big Bite) are most useful when needing to punch holes through thick material such as plastic, leather, tin or multiple pages. The demo videos for the Big Bite that I watched say you can see where the hole is going if you hold the thing in your hand and turn it upside down.Sorry for sounding confused, its a bit of an issue that things are refered to by different names by different countries. Features a 6" punching reach that allows you to punch and set the accents at the center of your 12" x 12" pages. I am only a cardmaker but have all the stuff to scrapbook so if I do decide to do some, I have the tool!

the crop a dile will only go about an inch or so into a page, the big bite will go the middle of a 12 x 12 page. I'm glad I got the Big Bite for the times I need it, but there's no doubt that the regular Crop-a-Dile is the one I use 95% of the time, so unless you anticipate needing the extra reach, I'd definitely go for that.I know that when I tried out the mini blind tutorial, I was so glad to have the CAD - I wouldn't have enjoyed having to punch all those holes one a time, but the CAD went straight through the whole pleated blind. I punched holes in the tags at the top and bottom to thread the ribbon through then wrap around the biscotti and tie into a pretty bow. I have only the Big Bite because even though I'm a card maker, I wanted to be able to put an eyelet or punch a hole anywhere and so needed the longer throat. This means that Etsy or anyone using our Services cannot take part in transactions that involve designated people, places, or items that originate from certain places, as determined by agencies like OFAC, in addition to trade restrictions imposed by related laws and regulations. The lightweight tool comes with 340 gromlets in a variety of shapes and colours, plus a total of 12 designer gromlets in Frenzy and Party designs.
