Humulus lupulus, better known as hop, is the climbing hop plant whose flower has been used for over 1,200 years by brewsters to stabilize beers while infusing them with their characteristic bitter or citrusy flavors and aromas.

CBC's Weekapaug Gruit is a clean fermented beer based on a mash of pale and dark caramel malts, along with wheat, oats, and rye. But indeed, Wojak, which advertises itself as being naturally brewed with no enzyme additives does not list hops on the label, only barley malt. It might taste fantastic and be a barley-based fermented beverage, but it is not and by definition cannot be "beer". it doesn't take a genius to look at the entire history of the IPA as the use of hops as a preservative for beer.
