So far the only named character in the Leagues of Votann army, Ûthar the Destined is a storied Kâhl (leader) described by GW as the “most accomplished hero of the Greater Thurian League” (the largest of the army’s League subfactions).

The Leagues of Votann launch set includes 25 new miniatures – Ûthar the Destined (who can also be assembled as a Kâhl ), an Einhyr Champion, three Hernkyn Pioneers , and 20 Hearthkyn Warriors . We mainly cover Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Age of Sigmar, Warmachine, Hordes, X-Wing, Infinity, Horus Heresy, and Star Wars Armada.If target enemy unit just reduced one of your units to below Half-strength with its attacks, put a Judgement Token on it.

The Votannic Council rules allow you to elevate a Kahl, Grimnyr and Brokhyr Iron-master to a High Kahl, Lord Grimnyr and Brokhyr Forge-master for the required amount of points/power, each of these come with extra abilities but you can only have one of each keyword in the same army.

As we saw with the non-vehicle miniatures in the set, there’s plenty about them that makes them feel like Squats, particularly their physical proportions and the runic-style motifs on some of their armour. The set includes eight tactics just for Goliath gangs, which emphasise their savage nature, 12 cards that any Necromunda gang can use, and six blank fighter cards, which are ideal for keeping track of your leaders and champions . With Steady Advance you lose the possibility of being able to advance up to 6″, but you have the advantage of always knowing how far you can move when advancing. Their society was based around their underground mining Strongholds which allied together for trade and mutual defence into the 700 Leagues.The bar was set extremely high by the Einhyr Champion and the Ûthar the Destined/Kâhl miniatures; these are still great models – and I can’t wait to take a drybrush to the curves of the bike – but whilst the other miniatures we’ve seen so far in the box are all scoring A+ grades, these guys are sitting at the upper end of a B. Beginning with a limited edition codex, it contains the background of the Kin (as they refer to themselves) and aside from their new history, it ties in their old background as the squats or demiurg nicely. As you can see in the image above, there are a few more bits, too: transfer sheets, datacards, a punchboard of tokens, as well as the new faction’s codex.
