All in all, I’m glad I’ve read Bukowski, but I feel like my life has taken me places where his opinions no longer really reach me. Overall, it’s well worth a read whether you’re new to Bukowski or not – it’s as good as any other book to start with, and interestingly enough it’s one of the many Bukowski collections which has crossed genres and inspired the names of songs and albums as well. I haven't double-checked the printings since then, but back in 2001 Love is Dog from Hell was Bukowski's bestseller poetry book with 27 printings. Unfortunately, I don't read much, but this discussion is really interesting to me and I have had the same kind of thoughts regarding this thread as well in the past and present.
