About this deal

Punctuated by brilliant stories, beautiful illustrations by Carys Reilly-Whitehouse, and recollections from fishing day trips past, How We Fish is the perfect tome for the veteran fisherman or the budding angler – warm, funny and rich in the wonders of the riverbank. The planning of where to go, what I might see, whether the light would be good, what sort of photographs I might end up capturing has echoes in how Bob prepares for and thinks about a fishing trip. When they are chatting to each other it is great but the parts where Paul talks about his favourite fish weren't for me.

These youthful adventures, being close to his dad, awoke in Paul a love of the beauty of Britain and its wildlife.

I’d recommend this book if you like the comedy work of these men, or if you’re curious about fishing, or if you just like listening in on warm and lasting friendships. We take pride in offering a wide selection of used books, from classics to hidden gems, ensuring there is something for every literary palate.

New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter.

Horrifying, heartbreaking and eye-opening, these are the stories, the patients and the cases that have characterised a career spent behind bars. Just opened this product and there are pages ripped in the book, this was a little birthday present for someone, now I can't give it to them with ripped pages and can't get another one in time, this damaged book shouldn't have been sent out very disappointed. From loving the TV series, I was excited to try this non-fiction- a genre I would love to read more of.

Job description: Sam records all sound on the production and makes sure Bob and Paul's dialogue is crystal clear, which can be challenging when surrounded by the sound of mother nature. Believe me, you don’t have to like fishing to get enjoyment from this book, it’s just a delight to witness two 60 somethings philosophising, and engaging in lots of banter in beautiful locations, and generally just chewing the cud, making the most of life, and recognising the joy in simple pleasures. The audiobook reflects Rhonda’s own journey and shares the most direct way out for those experiencing hardship and the path to end pain and suffering endured by so many, and it shines a light on a future without anxiety or fear. One Thursday lunchtime the Earth gets unexpectedly demolished to make way for a new hyperspace bypass. So if you want to know the difference between a waggler and a quill (types of float), or Quantum Radical and Dynamite Crave (types of synthetic bait), then this book will help. whenever we talk about comedy, Bob always says, ‘Paul have you noticed how people these days want to do their routine and want to be remembered as being clever?

Probably the main difference to the show, though, is that quite a lot of the book offers concrete, practical information – recipes from Bob, or Paul talking about the actual how-to of angling, stuff like the difference between a waggler and a quill float. Now Caine delves into the real stories behind the gangs we think we know so well, revealing the hidden realities behind the myths. In each episode you'll follow one person's journey, getting to listen in on their coaching sessions with Selina and following them as she sends them off on a task to try out a new career idea. I m not a fishing person but just listening to Paul and Bobs’ friendly banter was a joy and I did learn quite a lot about species of fish, best rivers to fish and different types of fishing! Bob says something interesting in regard to being seriously ill, about considering the limited time we actually have on the planet and how we ought to slow down and enjoy the small moments. I don't like fishing but this is a lovely listen to two good friends who happen to be funny, warm and entertaining, even when the technical fishing instructions appear (not lot of them). Both are old, both are ill, they are slightly cynical: so can they still find pleasure in something that gave them so much when they were young?
