About this deal

I have a feeling that viewers still excited for more 'Avatar' at this point will likewise want to go straight for the super-long edition, though it's certainly nice of Cameron to preserve all three versions for archival purposes. The Challenges of Pandora's Waters (HD; 11:42) centers on the challenges all the water sequences presented to the production. In a lot of cases, the CG visual effects are not quite as refined, the editing is blunt, and the new scenes disrupt the pacing of the story. steeds, swooping over the Pandoran equivalent of a herd of bison and loosing their arrows and spears. High definition home video enthusiasts—myself included—collectively held their mouths agape in awe when Avatar debuted on Blu-ray in April.

The title listings are as follows: Sculpting Avatar, Creating the Banshee, Creating the Thanator, The AMP Suit, Flying Vehicles, Na’vi Costumes, Speaking Na’vi, Pandora Flora, Stunts, Performance Capture, The 3D Fusion Camera, The Simul-Cam, Editing Avatar, Scoring Avatar, Sound Design, and The Haka: The Spirit of New Zealand.

After 12 years of thinking about it (and waiting for movie technology to catch up with his visions), James Cameron followed up his unsinkable Titanic with Avatar , a sci-fi epic meant to trump all previous sci-fi epics. It’s got James Cameron back in the Despite all fan concerns that this new, longer Avatar cut would not stand up as well on Blu-ray as its predecessor, the reality is that they are indiscernible. scenes in various stages of post-production completion, plus a "User's Guide" that explains what you're looking at when greenscreens are visible and other effects work is missing or in temp stages. Part of Avatar’s success is that it’s a simple, visual story and its message appeals to a wide variety of audiences - perhaps less so here in the States but certainly around the world. This is a rather odd addition, as it should really accompany the 4-part Capturing Avatar Documentary to be found on the second disc. Disney has announced that it will release a Collector's Edition 4K Blu-ray of James Cameron's Avatar (2009), starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, and Michelle Rodriguez.
