Of course, let's not forget that the tinny needledropped version of "Hocus Pocus" found here is an unforgivable sin.

EVERY DAMN SONG in the incredibly diverse soundtrack has a purpose, a place in its respective scene, setting the pace and enhancing the tension however much it needs to be. In this case, it's not only that, but Baby Driver also has the extra advantage of a narrative that hardly goes a minute without incorporating a licensed tune in either the background or the foreground. Certain songs sound VERY good, with an appreciably open soundstage and half-decent EQ, the best of these including "B-A-B-Y" by Carla Thomas, "Kashmere" by the Kashmere Stage Band, "Easy" by the Commodores, and "Debora" by Trex--err, I mean T. I guess I was right to be concerned about this being longer than normal for a double-LP with regular lacquer cuts. All of the album is compressed to a certain extent as if it weren't obvious already, but "Bellbottoms" has some serious brickwalling going on.
