So I have been using the Dewalt router, and I must admit I am not very happy with it for a couple of reasons. It looks like if I removed one of the lower horizontal guide rod supports on the very outside edge of the casting that it would be enough. This doesn't look refurbished just used and they took a quick inventory and through in what they thought was missing.

The things so quiet compared to other routers that I get concerned it’s not getting very high rpm’s . I had to replace my Makita router and I bought the 1617 Bosch unit after reading the reviews and boy am I happy I did, powerful, precise, smooth and accurate, I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend this router! While building, I realized that the router base needed to be propped up so that it's "level" once the whole thing is assembled. That being said, my other 2 machines are plunge units that are more suited to quickly finding the zone. I've also routed several through and half-blind dovetails on my Rockler jig, again, with no issues with bit wander.I am using a Makita router rail attachment and making it work with my Bosch plunge base using another idea I found here. I noticed it sounded like the router was trying to adjust the RPM/speed and then would just turn off. not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I think I want to try and see if that'll help it glide along with the rest of the mechanism). To reduce the risk of serious injury and/or damage to your Festool product, always read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions in your Festool product's Instruction Manual.

My next project after this is to make my Bosch Colt with plunge base into a "quasi domino machine" and have it ride along the back of the rail as a guide and then set up "stops" using custom made stops that will use the LR32 rail to set them up at the precise width of mortise that I need.Reddit and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to provide you with a better experience. It may be that Bosch corrected the issues with bit wander mentioned previously, but I've had no such issue. Variable speed dial, soft-start, maintains constant speed under load, quick clamp system on both bases, includes fixed base with system for adjusting bit height from above a router table, precision centering makes it easy to keep bit on intended cutline when using jigs, templates, dovetail fixtures and similar guidance devices, fixed base has threaded holes for mounting to router table positioned in Bosch 4-hole pattern and common 3-hole pattern, microfine, bit, depth adjustment system on both bases, wide base openings and 2inch sub-base openings and provides better visibility, right or left. I also purchased the dust collector for my Bosch 1617, but haven’t tried it yet , so cant critique its dust collecting capability yet .

This is serious stuff for power tool woodworking, cabinet grade MDF is like butter or cardboard in comparison. Woodworking is your worldwide home for discussion of all things woodworking, carpentry, fine furniture, power tools, hand tools, and just about anything else about making - anything - from trees! Not too heavy and no vibrations which is especially important as a female user as I'm able to easily control the feed rate. The second time I had to use Electric cleaning spray, found at your Pepboys, near the brake cleaner sprays. Users can glide along the intended cutline using dovetail fixtures, templates, jigs and other guidance devices. Where some might find it lacking is having a comprehensive dust collection feature built in with a clear dust dust shield over the working area, like some DeWalt and Porter Cable 1/2" shank routers I own.

Owners manuals were Xerox copies stapled together one of the electric wires had a cut through the casing. on April 08, 2017, 11:35 AM Might seem like a crazy question but will the Bosch FSN OFA router adapter plate fit the Festool rails and does the detent pin line up with the holes in the Festool rail? I understand that there is no perfect tool but I only have 1 shot and need to get the best I can afford. Quote from: aosty on January 22, 2016, 01:35 AM I've successfully squeezed a 1617 on to the LR32 plate without drilling. Mine has been used primarily in a router table with a home made router lift, never had an issue with any C ring.
