The Pentax also accepts any Pentax lens which is great and also comes with a metal mount on the included lens, but has a thumbs down from me about the batteries.The Zuiko lens is good quality and built for the four thirds system to make it completely compatible.

The camera comes with the Manual in both paper and CD formats, a quick start guide in pocket size which is quite handy, battery, a promotional CD on EF lenses, strap, basic promotional material, USB, AV lead, charger and drivers which includes Zoombrowser EX 5.We soon learned the knack of quickly swapping Canon's EOS lenses onto the body of the 400D to minimise the amount of time dust has to creep onto the camera's sensor.

Less important but just as noticeable are the removal of the status LCD, replaced instead by a camera settings screen on the now larger 2.

In most other respects, the control layout on the 400D mimics that of the 350D, which is pretty much how it's been on Canon dSLRs since the beginning. have been doing the same thing… just making minor, poor, or inconsequential upgrades to their cameras.
