About this deal

I was thinking of either drawing them with permanent marker, or, if the material is plastic, etching the battlemats with a hot knife, perhaps only with a small cross at the corners of the squares like you see in the official printed mats of DnD. MADE FROM EXPANDED VINYL - This Mat is reversible and has 1 inch squares on one side and 1 inch hexes on the other side.

PERFECT TO USE WITH A HUGE VARIETY OF GAMES - Great for wargaming and popular fantasy roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Pathfinder, X Wing, and other tabletop and multiplayer miniatures games. I'd taken to folding it a number of times for storage, but I discovered that it holds the creases, making it a little annoying when characters or monsters end their move near the creases. Then you can clean it afterwards using acetone, which will break the pigment apart and allow you to clean it off with the alcohol. After the battle, just wipe out the whiteboard marker drawn on the plastic cover, the permanent grid inside is still pristine.Get yourself a large piece of graph/hex paper, cover it with Clear Contact Paper (translucent, vinyl shelf liner), front and back, to waterproof it.

Simply lay this large map on a table or other flat playing surface ahead of time and you are ready to play. Now I have glass hex grid which can have both permanent and dry erase on it ("permanent" markers are easily washed off glass). It lets you have at least a couple ready and a spare when they hare off and you have to draw one up In a hurry . If Con-Tac isn't available, something comparable will be, and having the Kittrich part numbers allows saying to the clerk, "I want something like this!

Do not try and roll it up nice and tight like you would normal paper to protect it, you'll be doing it a disservice. I'd still use it, except the threat of the metal dice used by obstinate, dice worshiping players is a potentially dangerous situation. Roll20 also has those pre-made clear covered map boards that are able to be taken where ever you game. There are a few other never do things but it has been so long ago, I can't remember them but in general. I have Chessex Battle Maps and they are very difficult to remove all the lines from the pens i have.
