About this deal

His greedy crumb by crumb midnight feast consumption of one such cake - and the consequences - is related to readers in Mr Rosen’s inimitable style, with wit and humour which are reinforced by the brilliant illustrations. Right off the back of reviewing "I Really Want the Cake" by Simon Philip and Lucia Gaggiotti, this is another great tale of a midnight feast gone wrong. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Thank you Penguin Random House UK Children’s and Puffin via NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

In Michael's July 2018 livestream, he mentioned that he also sneaked downstairs a few times in the middle of the night to have some caramel wafers, not just chocolate cake. We’ve been huge fans of his fiction books for children, which include We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and Chocolate Cake. Because "Chocolate Cake" is Michael's third most popular video, it has been used in countless YouTube Poops. And I’m busy having my breakfast, she’s busy over there, and she’s busy over there, and she says, “Oh, Michael, there’s something else, there’s something nice! The story is about a little boy (a little Michael Rosen really) sneaking downstairs in the middle of the night, when everyone else is fast asleep, to look at a big chocolate cake his mum has made… and then, of course, he’s unable to resist having a few crumbs… and then a bit more… until the whole cake is gone!

What you see on top of the cake are Maltesers, which are round, crunchy malted milk centres surrounded by milk chocolate. upon seeing the chocolate cake is often used in YTPMV's as its tonal nature allows for it to be pitch-shifted into melodies (see Richael Mosen's Michael Does the Can-Can).

Grease a 10 by 3- inch round pan with butter, line the bottom and sides of the pan with parchment paper, and grease the paper. Michael picking up crumbs can be used if he's seen typing something or pressing buttons (see 256Pi's Michael's Last Ice Cream to Me Every Dead Floor Roaring Downstairs, where this is used when Michael hijacks a train).

Thinking he can hide the evidence, the little boy washes up the plate and the knife and goes back to bed. They aren't difficult but they do require a certain amount of patience as you have to wait for them to cool completely before icing and so on. The illustrations won an honored title because Waldron used turn pages, sounds, and the words to his advantage. Of course, eating a couple of crumbs off the plate turns into cutting off one small slice, and then another, until the boy realises he’s eaten the whole cake.

The content and ambition of the show remains the same: to give every pupil the opportunity to engage with authors and illustrators in their own classroom using the power of the internet. Perhaps I would like this picture book better if he did a reading of it and made it as good as his reading of the poem!
