I bought this book alongside “The Edible Garden”, (which i had been watching on the television), thinking it would be a food addition to my gardening library. However, the book does work as a concept with its own focus and I think if you haven't read Fowler's earlier work then this is actually the best place to start. I’ve enjoyed learning about some more unusual edible plants that I wouldn’t have thought of to grow. She has presented on BBC's Gardeners' World, The Great British Garden Revival, Our Food , and her own six-part series The Edible Garden .Her inspiration for urban gardening comes from her time volunteering in a community garden on the Lower East side in Manhattan, New York City. A thoroughly rich and engaging practical guide to creating a wildlife-friendly edible garden that is as beautiful as it is utterly delicious. All of the plants that Fowler has incorporated into this book have been selected so that they hold their own not just in a garden but on the plate. informative and interesting too, i learnt a lot and the idea of polyculture gardens has my brain buzzing.
