Replacement Chris Showerman willingly takes on all manner of humiliation at the hands of CG jungle animals and his new extended family. I don't mind watching someone swing face first into a tree from time to time, just to stray from the norm. Those who bought the "George of the Jungle" videotapes from Fox back in the 1990's will remember these. This superhero parody successfully skewered comic heroes nearly as thoroughly as George does jungle films.

The villain, Baron Otto Matic, and the Baron's henchman, Clutcher (voiced by Paul Frees) are the bane of Tom's existence. The bonus features are pilot episodes of George and Super Chicken, which show how both shows were later enhanced by their unfogettable theme songs. Tom's vehicle, The Thunderbolt Greaseslapper, is an incredibly versatile machine that can be modified into a car, motorboat, airplane, hot air balloon or whatever Tom and Otto are racing. All three programs featured self-contained stories, so there wasn't the chance for sprawling multi-part adventures like Moose and Squirrel were able to have. Tom Slick's girlfriend Marigold (and nearly every other female) is June Foray, the voice of Rocky and Nell Fenwick.

For a comedy this is one I would have others watch, It is a very good value and the movie itself is so funny. However, it's the trickery of Ursula's betrothed that confuses George and ultimately forces him to become the man he was always intended to be. All 17 shows are included, including the Superchicken story, "The Laundryman", which featured a Chinese stereotype as a villain. Tom is a clean-cut, all-American race car driver who manages to triumph over the evil drivers who try to sabotage the races he enters.

George's journey begins with a happy life in the jungle, but he finally comes face to face with "sophisticated" humans. He grows up to be the hunky, heroic, yet klutzy King of the Jungle, George (Brendan Fraser - Encino Man), who swings from one tree right into the trunk of the next!
