About this deal

Still Teen-Rated (13 upwards), I Cannot Reach You continues to offer an engaging and sympathetic view of the pitfalls of crushing on your best friend – yet doesn’t delve too deeply into the problems that can arise when that friend is the same sex as you. I plan to pick up the next volume and see if Yamato can manage to get his feelings across to his ever so loveably clueless best friend! So the books, mangas, and webtoons that make me emotional when reading with loud reactions let me know I've hit the jackpot. Yamato tries to express his feelings, but when he learns that someone he cares about shares the same feelings for Kakeru, he is hesitant and confused.

There are some indications that we might need to sift through some unnecessary drama before that happens, however, as Yamato’s younger sister also seems to have a crush on Kakeru! Frieren is still going strong continuing from last season, but The Dangers in My Heart is the one stealing the spotlight! It allows for a slice of life type of storytelling that explores the entire friend group without insisting too much on the central couple and it gives more variety to the manga overall.Despite this increasingly sticky situation between them, he’s still devoted to Yamato and does his best to look out for him. ANNtv, ANNCast, Answerman, Astro Toy, Intern Annika, Brain Diving, Buried Treasure, Chicks On Anime, Crashing Japan, The Dub Track, The Edit List, Epic Threads, From The Gallery, Hai Fidelity, House of 1000 Manga, Ima Kore Ga Hoshiin Da, Old School, Pile of Shame, RIGHT TURN ONLY! Yamato is extremely shy and has to push himself out of his comfort zone to show his feelings to Kakeru. But the tone conveyed by the art feels very jarring, and the drama and decided lack of communication drags enough that I'll stay away for now.

began as a web comic on the author's Twitter account on April 13, 2018 before official serialization began in Gene pixiv on November 23, 2018. Sure, there are other stories happening during those times, or else it would be downright infuriating, but it can still feel like the story is dragging here and there. And while more often than not I am left defeated by fetishizing, heteronormative, and fujoshi-ridden things to read, Kimi ni wa Todokanai was the light at the end of the tunnel for me.

And for those that have not seen Sasaski and Miyano what I mean is no character in this manga has suffered any sort of trauma. One of the favourite themes of romance manga is that of the childhood friends who go from being friends to lovers. Sometimes this happens after a long time-gap, sometimes these stories portray the relationship changing while the two are still at school together, as is the case with I Cannot Reach You. It has everything there is to find in a slice-of-life BL manga, with a mix of humor and yearning for that best friend you are hesitant to admit your feelings to.I screamed so many times while I was reading it and I'm so excited about the updates, I recommend it completely. Kakeru pays a lot of attention to almost everything his friend does, but he is particularly interested in knowing why Yamato never acknowledges any of the numerous romantic confessions he often gets from girls.
