About this deal

So we have an absolutely excellent, top quality release, and an undeniable upgrade, but maybe a low priority double-dip for owners of a previous edition. Some of the technologies we use are necessary for critical functions like security and site integrity, account authentication, security and privacy preferences, internal site usage and maintenance data, and to make the site work correctly for browsing and transactions. It’s an honest track, pointing out both the things that work well and the short comings, but the participants are proud of what they put up on screen and are even happier that there are fans for the film.

When Mike and his girlfriend Debbie warn the local police that a gang of homicidal alien-clowns have landed in the nearby area (in a spaceship shaped like a circus big-top, no less), the cops are naturally sceptical. Whether this is your first time owning Killer Klowns on home video or your sixth, it's absolutely worth the money. Compellingly paced, cleverly designed, and sufficiently impish, "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" is a rare achievement in cult cinema --Blu-ray.The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products.

The Arrow release has corrected it, or at least gotten it substantially closer, as I suspect it was a minor ADR issue in the first place. and rises several stories, with an almost insane labyrinth of nooks and crannies containing an almost overwhelming selection of books. It's made even more bizarre when characters on screen show absolutely no fear of the invading aliens simply because they resemble clowns. These moments can stick out a bit but that’s only because the rest of the film looks pretty flawless.

All these years later and countless viewings, the movie remains a riot, one which the Chiodo Brothers will continue to be remembered for, even if they never went on to other projects of their own making.

Kreating Klowns (1080i; 12:50) is an archival piece with Charles Chiodo and creature fabricator Dwight Roberts. When Mike and his girlfriend Debbie warn the local police that a gang of homicidal alien-clowns have landed in the nearby area (in a spaceship shaped like a circus big-top, no less), the cops are naturally skeptical. Both have positive stories to share and they talk fondly of the directors, indicating they were very helpful, explaining to them their final vision, which wasn’t always apparent. It’s actually insane how much content they jammed in, while still managing to keep it on a single disc. Deleted Scenes • Bad Experience (1080p; 2:14) is available with an optional commentary by the brothers.Amongst them are André De Toth's Ramrod, Robert Altman's Images, and Stephen Chiodo's Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Interviews, making-of documentaries, an audio commentary track with the Chiodo brothers (which has been released previously), trailers, deleted scenes, image galleries, bloopers – this thing has it all. The Chiodo Brothers give us some nice matte paintings, great make-up effects, and just enough imagination to drag through the laborious 85 minute running time.

We're not talking actors in clown make-up but fantastic (in both senses of the word) clown monsters. It was fun listening to the three talk about these films but actually seeing the films is an absolute hoot.

It's a better transfer, yes, but they're not exactly correcting grave problems with the previous HD transfers, and "much grainier" probably isn't a huge selling point for most viewers. The sole directorial effort from the Chiodo brothers - the special effects team behind such hits as Critters and Team America: World Police - Killer Klowns from Outer Space is the wacky 1988 horror comedy classic against which all other knowing B-movie efforts should be measured. Details and textures are wonderfully complex, all with no obvious DNR enhancement and only minor over-sharpening artifacts. My first exposure, like many others, was via MGM's excellent Midnite Movies DVD, which lavished the film with a solid A/V presentation and an absurdly in-depth collection of extras.
