About this deal

Apparently, owning the bakery at Inglewild's most romantic destination does not help one's love life--despite Layla's best efforts. It made me want to cry how hard he was on himself, how he prepared every date with all his care and a single thing going wrong would make him feel like a failure, like it was a signal of him not being good enough for her. At the start of the book Layla runs into Caleb and she finally, FINALLY, notices him and is flabbergasted at how suddenly attractive he was. if you've read the first two books we've a better idea than he does at the start as to why else this might be 😉 - bless his fam for their "good intentions" chats.

And since this is a POC hero, it makes me think all sorts of dark thoughts about racism when it doesn’t seem like this sort of book. Omgee I loved this books they had me suffering until the last second, still i loved the fmc mmc too much! I then went and read some goodreads reviews and found out about the annoyingly unnecessary third act breakup… and those always piss me off - so I’m content with the fact that I stopped when I did.

mixed signals is the third book in the series and it features layla, our favorite baker, and caleb, the human personification of the sun. We do not receive compensation for our reviews, other than the copy of the book to read for the review. I won’t get into details - but in my personal opinion, I found it to be very unrealistic and I didn’t like the whole thing… so that was the turning point of when I decided I just didn’t care to keep going. I like how I never have to really worry, so much of the angst is self induced and there is plenty of comfort, support, good and bad advice.

Mixed Signals is the third book in the Lovelight Farms series of romances that all center around a Christmas tree farm in the fictional small town of Inglewild, Maryland. Even in the middle of the summer when the humidity is so thick it feels like I'm walking through Jell-O, the sticky heat making my hair curl. Mixed Signals was a very enjoyable surprise which I’d recommend to rom-com lovers who also happen to like their characters realistic, with insecurities that are easy to relate to. He is also super hot, but Layla never noticed (even though he was in her bakery for butter croissants and coffee three days a week like clockwork) until he saves her from an especially bad date.Mixed Signals is a standalone romance and the third book in the Lovelight series, a collection of interconnected novels.
