My previous conditioner, a creamy-based one from Sephora, did nothing much to help condition my hair. The main thing of these largish peptides is to act as water-binding agents, and to make the skin nice and smooth (aka emollient).It’s got great cleansing power but the way it leaves my hair sad and dry is something I’d rather avoid. An amino acid that is important in regulating the immune defense and inflammatory processes in the body.

It’s an ingredient whose safety hasn’t been questioned so far by anyone (at least not that we know about).

I’m quite happy when the way my hair looks and feels these days so I’d rather not upset that balance. Most of all, this miracle worker helps side-step the inconvenience associated with traditional deep-conditioning masks, especially figuring out how to kill five or more minutes as it works in the shower—or dealing with stepping out and getting back in to rinse if a specific product requires more time. The only downfall I can imagine is if you like shampoos without scent, this might not be it for you since it has a strong (but very nice) smell (like a light floral shampoo maybe?
