The culprit is revealed very early on the novel and it mostly becomes a story about Darby trying to stay alive through the night. I’m definitely the outlier so please read the countless raving reviews of this before making a decision. I read this authors latest release earlier this year and while I liked that one a bit more, I had a very similar reaction so I have concluded that I am not the right fit for this author. I hate it in books and movies when a character almost gets away but then discovers they have done something so unbelievably dumb that, uh oh, they're captured again.
