After you’ve bought a vehicle, buying a heating blanket may not seem like a big deal. However, you’ll rely on the blanket to keep you warm during long chilly rides. This makes it even more important to choose the right one. This heating blanket is a great gift for people who don’t need timers. This basic product works exceptionally well to keep you warm at nights while drawing a relatively low amount of current. What we liked about this heated blanket was its safety. The approved wires used in it are extremely safe and nonflammable. To begin, you will need the heat pad itself as well as the battery you plan to wrap. For tools, we used a pair of wire cutters, a wire stripper, and a crimper. Also, it has an in-built 10-amp fuse to ensure it doesn’t draw too much current and overheat. This is important in RVs since they have more flammable materials than typical houses. This electric blanket draws just 4 amps from your battery, so there won’t be any drainage unless you use it excessively.

Interesting idea, I hadn't seen that kind of set up before. Basically a tiny mini-split? The first problem I see would be in the summer time, adding more heat to the battery box. If your batteries are in the living space they should get no where near freezing. The only problem with liths is charging when below freezing. I don't take the bus out much, if ever, in the winter. I'm just using the heat pads to make darn sure the batteries never get charged when they are below freezing. Besides the heat pad, which is set to come on about 38°F I also have a total disconnect of the batteries from everything set at about 35°F. Before mentioning anything else, let’s just get this out of the way – the Schumacher heated travel blanket does not have any automatic temperature settings or a timer function. You’ll have no problem in telling whether the blanket is on thanks to the LED light. If the light is on, the blanket has already started heating up.It is worth to note that control of the temperature should always be in place, and the safety margin applied as the maximum peak temperature for this silicone part should never exceed +300°C.

To sum things up, we recommend this heated blanket if you need one with a lengthy power cord and good heating capacity.

Unfortunately, this 12-volt heating pads cannot be washed in a washing machine. It goes on the mattress and under the sheet so it should not get that dirty to require constant washing. Bit it can be hand washed if needed. To use this hot water bottle, simply boil water on your stove or over a campfire and pour it into the rubber bottle. Seal the cap, slip the cover over the bottle, and place it wherever you need heat. Hot water put in this bottle will stay warm for at least 45 minutes.
