Because the female character Shannon is the definition of damsel in distress. Or a small mouse perfect meal for all mean cats *and there are plenty in the story* around her. There were no words to describe the devastated feeling that had overtaken me when my father put his foot down on moving in with Aunty Alice.

This series was on my tbr for probably two years and after all this time I finally decided to give it a chance. This will be the less popular opinion here as I see everyone loves it, but unfortunately, I’m not one of them. I kinda liked it, but did I love it? Certain parts yes, I was even obsessed with them, but in overall if someone told me to read it again, I would definitely answer 'no'. I have a feeling I would enjoyed it more, but when I was 14/15. Also, the end was so touching. The fact that he kept telling his parents that she was the one… AHHHH!!! Just perfect. Really. me would've been on her knees for him though, given how protective he was. maybe i don't like him much bec the guy saves and protects the girl ALWAYS is not something i particularly enjoy reading now and that was what happened throughout the book. All in all Aoife Molley pls marry me! Chloe Walsh couldn’t write a better heroine .. SHE IS PERFECT. One of my least fav heroes to read about are ADDICTS.. because of the time I don’t think their reasons to be addicted to drugs or alcohol is justifiable or these Heroes are RICH and have all the means to get help. Joey on the other hands I’m supporting his rights, but i’m also supporting his wrongs ( meaning: him needing drugs to survive). All the psychological and psychical abuse, the emotional neglect and the pressure of being his sibling’s protector, THAT’S A LOT FOR A TEENAGE BOY! no other hero has been through as much as Joey Lnych has and he deserves the whole universe. 😭
