I thouroughly enjoyed your writing. I am of the same train of thought regarding the Giants. I am thinking that the San Francisco Giants (once the New York Giants, one of the oldest teams in baseball) were named after ALL the “giants being found in the land”. It was quite the news in the 19th Century here in the USA. Therefore, I think there is something to that.
In this article, I will propose an alternative anthropological method for determining the fate of the ancient giants. Rather than attempting to interpret the sparse and inconclusive archaeological evidence, I suggest that scholars turn to ancient texts and the mythological/religious traditions they contain. As Erik Von Daniken notes, ancient literature, while highly mythological, often retains fact at its core.Gulliver’s Travel offers readers a fascinating journey through fantastic lands. When we think of this Swift classic, we think of the giant Gulliver being tied down by the Lilliputians from the land of Lilliput. But did you know that Gulliver actually came across giants in his ventures? do not eat men, but roast them only, on account of the cruelties first enacted against their ancestors by the Spanish.” 5 Jubilees intimately connects with Enoch's story. Jub 4:17-23 presents, for example, the perspective of the heavenly archangels who direct and instruct Enoch in Wisdom: "We told him"; "we taught him"; "we led him". In all my extensive research into the hidden history of giants in America, the most detailed, wide-ranging and colorful account I came across was “The Natural And Aboriginal History of Tennessee,” by Dr. John Haywood, which was first published in 1823. Haywood combines an exhaustive first person account of his many astonishing discoveries in combination with an excellent overview of the previous historical finds in the area. In biblical terminology, to “trust in one’s own might” has both a religious and secular meaning. In the former context, it refers to neglecting (in the view of the biblical authors) the power of God in favor of assuming that one’s own power and strength are sufficient. The Channel Islands off the coast of California have turned up numerous oversized skeletons. The story is intriguing and controversial, and it stars amateur archaeologist Ralph Glidden and his bizarre museum, but before the main act, a German naturalist got the story going in 1913. Dr. A. W. Furstenan reported unearthing an 8 ft tall skeleton with artifacts such as mortar, pestles, and arrowheads on Catalina. He was told of a legend while in Mexico of a giant and noble race that lived on the Island, who existed long before the white man and had since vanished. Although I still have a few chapters to go, I’m so excited by the thorough research in your book (which I rushed to buy) that I must congratulate you.
